Is the Signal Source for Satellite Halos Selectable on the MERCUSYS App?
Currently, only a few Halo models such as Halo H50G support manually selecting a preferred signal source in the MERCUSYS App.
For details, please refer to How to select a preferred signal source for Satellite Halos on the MERCUSYS App.
For other models which don’t support it now, please pay attention to the subsequent firmware upgrade.
Why does my Satellite Halo sometimes connect to the Main Halo instead of another Satellite Halo with a stronger signal?
Halo will choose the best signal source by itself. The selection is not solely based on signal strength. It also evaluates the connection rate and overall link quality.
In some cases, you may see the satellite Halo selects the main Halo as the signal source instead of the nearer satellite Halo when you see near satellite Halo also with good signal strength.
For example, there are 3 Halo units, Satellite B may connect to the Main Halo instead of Satellite A, even though B is physically closer to A.
That is because the satellite Halo may get slower speed due to half-duplex mode and interferences caused by connected devices like phones, or other devices. To ensure each Satellite Halo maintains the reliable speed and stability, the system automatically chooses the best path after comparing multiple factors. This intelligent auto-selection mechanism is built into all Halo models.
